About Quilcast
A Farcaster client for Hypersnap, by Borodutch Labs.
Quilcast is a small, open-source Farcaster client that runs in your browser at quilcast.com and talks straight to Hypersnap, the Farcaster network that Quilibrium runs. There is no Quilcast server between you and the network for reading and posting: reads go to a public Hypersnap node, every post is a message signed in your browser, and your keys stay in the browser's own storage. Quilcast has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Signing in
Sign in with an existing Farcaster recovery phrase (it works the same way as in Warpcast and Quorum), or connect a wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby as the account's custody address. You can also create a new Farcaster account right on the page: Quilcast generates a recovery phrase in your browser, you send about $0.20 of ETH on Optimism to it, and Quilcast registers the account, adds a signing key and claims your username.
What it does
- Following and trending feeds, threads, profiles, notifications and search.
- Casts, replies, quotes, likes, recasts, follows and channel posts, with up to two photos or videos per cast.
- Farcaster direct messages, live, with group chats, requests and muting.
- Spaces, Farcaster's live audio rooms: listen, raise a hand, or host one.
- A wallet for Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum and Polygon, with balances, tokens, NFTs and sends.
- Farcaster and Base mini apps open inside Quilcast, with notifications.
- Translations for casts in other languages, and private mutes and blocks that follow you to every device.
- For fun: MySpace-style profile looks, app themes, a profile Winamp that plays YouTube playlists in classic skins, and a Quorum mode that lays Quilcast out like Quilibrium's Quorum app.
